Here I will tell you about 3dsmax 3dmode resting chair studio tutorial.
I have used following techniques in this 3ds max tutorial as shown below

[1]-Start 3dsmax and choose "Box" with the following size as shown below   
     Now create two boxes and set like this

[2]-Select the box and now Boolean the object like this

[4]-Apply the Bend modifier with the good following amount as shown below
